Ruby Bridges was the youngest leader in the Civil Rights Movement to make a change in her society. By being the only African American child to enroll into the white school, William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana, she initiated protests from neighbors that caused a nationwide phenomenon. At age 6, she taught people in her society that strong will and strength has no size or age barrier. She showed true bravery by standing up to protesting neighbors to achieve a fair education, equal to those of whites for her and future African American students. When she was the young age of 6, she showed more bravery than most adults could in her era making her a true leader in her society.
